Becoming a mobile therapist
We are the only network of colleges in the world which train on both stationary and mobile equipment. So after graduation you will have the option to become a mobile therapist.
If you are a self-employed therapist who owns a mobile (portable) Aqua-Clinic device you have a choice of either renting premises or offering your services to a number of businesses in your catchment area.
The question that we are often asked is whether it is possible to offer colon therapy services at people's homes. It is possible, but you may find it hard to build a good profitable business by doing so. However it is relatively easy to build a very successful mobile business by offering your services to beauty salons, gyms, holistic clinics and complementary medicine centres.
Advantages of going mobile
- You increase considerably your catchment area. People would drive to have a colon therapy treatment for 7-12 miles. Having three venues some 10 miles apart you can easily cover a 50-mile radius and thus treble your potential customer base.
- You work with different people in different environments. It turns you into a fast learner and helps you to become a good solid all-rounder.
- You do not need to invest into the premises, which is a huge saving.
- You usually work in the locations where there is already a good foot flow of potential customers; you don't need to start from scratch.
- You usually get support with marketing and advertising because owners of the venue wish you to be successful as much as you do.
Difficulties of being a mobile therapist
- You carry your business at the back of your car; so you should always have a reliable vehicle.
- There is some lifting involved, and you should exercise care in lifting the machine.
- You need to pay extra insurance for goods and equipment in transit.
- You can't make the room exactly as you like it, because you share it with other people.
As you can see there are not too many disadvantages, and the upside is quite considerable. Whichever option you chose, you need to work hard to become successful - just as it is in any business!
