What about the premises for my colon therapy practice?

Venue requirements for Aqua-Clinic

Aqua-Clinic is a pressurised colon hydrotherapy instrument. This means that water enters the instrument under a certain pressure. As the device does not use electricity and does not heat the water, the sources of hot and cold water should be available on the premises.

The hot and cold water should be “balanced”. If the cold water comes into the room at a pressure much higher than hot, you may need to boost the hot water, so that you achieve the balance between hot and cold. If both hot and cold come into the building at equal pressure, but this pressure is too high, you may need to put pressure reducers. In most commercial and some residential premises, hot and cold water are balanced at around 2-3 bar, which is perfectly suitable for Aqua-Clinic.

As with any equipment using stored hot water, you need to have a tank for stored hot water. Ideally, we recommend a minimum of 100 litres, so that you can be assured that you can have uninterrupted treatments.

We are often asked if hot and cold water taps can be used to run the machine. As you yourself know, adjusting temperature with the taps can be very difficult – remember all the times that you scalded your hands with the water which was too hot! Since this risk always exists, you cannot use the taps when working with Aqua-Clinic.Therefore, you will need to plug the machine into hot and cold water outlets fitted with 15 mm full-bore isolating valves. They can be installed by any plumber.

You will need to have the toilet in the room or in the immediate proximity to the room.

The other question we are often asked is whether the waste line could be fed into the toilet. This is possible, however you will need to keep flushing the toilet during the treatment and the client won’t be able to use the toilet unless you take the pipe out etc etc. So the machine is designed to have its own waste outlet, which can also be installed by any plumber. We will supply the V-unit for the connection to the waste outlet.

The installation requirements document (the PDF file below) specifies all the details that your plumber needs to know to prepare the room for the installation of the equipment.
